Nigeria’s most valuable bank brand, First Bank of Nigeria, Limited has again demonstrated its support for sustainable youth empowerment by sponsoring the 6th edition of the CFC UNILAG Academic Summit 6.0.
It is themed: “The Digital Age Media: A Marriage of Skills, Opportunities and Technology.”
The, summit which is scheduled to hold on August 6, 2015 at the University of Lagos Main Auditorium, is organised to effectively reach the youth segment – a critical segment in the Bank’s current development strategy.
The CFC UNILAG Academic Summit is borne out of the need for Mass Communication and journalism students in tertiary and pre-tertiary institutions to acquire academic knowledge and a real world experience through internship programmes and the emergence of the town and gown concept via mentorship by veterans in the various fields of the media industry.
The Summit aims to become a reference point in career building for all Mass Communication professionals, public relations professionals, advertising professionals and online social media experts.
According to the Group Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications for FirstBank, Folake Ani-Mumuney, the Bank’s Sponsorship of the summit is a practical demonstration of its commitment to remain a strong supporter of initiatives that are geared towards equipping the youths with the requisite skills and tools required for socio-economic empowerment through the support of youth engagement initiatives, endowment schemes and infrastructure development.
“Our desire is to see our strategic and need driven youth empowerment interventions culminate in equipping Nigerian youths for a bright future,” Ani-Mumuney said.
