Speaking at a briefing during the weekend, NULASS National President and student of Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Daniju Sultan, said failure of government to resolve the crisis hitherto does not portray a good image on the state, thus the union’s resolve to ventilate its position on the issue.

He said haven critically examined the issue, it is pertinent for the state government to ensure the immediate return of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. John Obafunwa, to his Ojo campus office.

It would be recalled that for over eight months, Obafunwa has been operating from the Ikeja campus of the university. He was forced out of the main campus on March 16, 2015, by some staff union members.

He said: “Though we are no longer in the age of destructive aluta, but we are pleading with Ambode to interfere in the issue and put a permanent end to the crisis within two weeks. Obafunwa has done credibly well and should be reinstated to office undisturbed.”
