Pharmacy students of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) have offered a free medical lifeline to 10,000 Nigerian suffering from diabetes and hypertension in Edo state.
Under their special health exercise, tagged 'Pharmacare 10,000’, the student pharmacists provided free treatment at several markets in Benin City, the Edo state capital.
According to a Daily Trust, the President of the Pharmaceutical Association of Nigerian Students (PANS), Darry Emazor, said ‘Pharmacare 10,000’ is one of the series of activities organized by the association for its annual health week.
One of the participants, fifth year student Jennifer Omuri and member of the project’s counselling team, said many of those treated were ignorant of the health implications of their diets
