The National Alumni Association of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, at the weekend, elected new executive members to pilot its affairs for the next two years.
The election which was held during its 10th Annual General Assembly saw Dr. Ahmed Tijjani Mora, emerged as the new national president of the association to replace Princess Henrietta Ingo Ogan, who has completed her terms.
Professor Funmilayo Braide emerged the deputy national president, while Arch. Sani Khalil Ibrahim, was elected the national secretary and Abdullahi Lattef Saka was the national assistant secretary.
Mr. Sam Agbi Ojie returned as the National Public Relations Officer and Engnr. Ibrahim Maimaje elected as national treasurer among other officers.
Speaking after his election, the new national president, Ahmed Tijjani Mora, promised to resuscitate the various branches of the association and called on other executive members to see their elections as a clarion call to give back to their former school.
He promised to network and source for funds to uplift the standard of the school as well as build the association national secretariat at the proposed phase 2 of the institution.
In his message to the occasion, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Ibrahim Garba, commended the various achievements of the immediate past executives of the association and urged the members to work for the development of the famous university.
Most delegates at the event expressed satisfaction with the transparent manner with which the elections were conducted and tasked the leaders to live up to the expectation.
