Australia has said that it already has about 1300 Nigerian studying in the country but wants even more to join them, as the Australian High Commissioner, Jonathan Richardson visits UNILAG on the 22nd of July.

The Commission's Research and Public Affairs Officer, Okokon Odiongenyi, in a recent statement said the number is expected to grow.
"There are around 1,300 Nigerian students studying in Australia this year, and we hope this number continues to grow," the statement said.
Richardson said Australian High Commissioner, Jonathan Richardson, would interact with students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) on the 22nd of July.
He said Richardson will use the talk as "an excellent opportunity to bring Australia, as well as Australian postgraduate opportunities, to the consciousness of the students."
Odiongenyi said the High Commissioner would speak on "Australia's place in the world and its bilateral engagement with Nigeria.
"He will also invite the students to attend the Australia Future Unlimited West Africa Education Exhibition to be held in Lagos in September."
According to the statement, the event will give Nigerian students an opportunity to learn more about postgraduate study opportunities for pursuing in the country-continent.
